Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best private schools, where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with both a home and a school where they can thrive. The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates and is expanding to serve more students. MHS is seeking a full-time Campus Safety Guest Services Coordinator to join the Campus Safety Department. This position serves as the primary point of contact for safety & security events in Founders Hall and potential expansion into additional facilities on campus. The coordinator will greet and direct guests & visitors to Founders Hall, promoting good public relations through courteous, helpful, and professional demeanor. This includes promoting safety initiatives throughout the facility and providing guidance and direction during critical incidents. Furthermore, the coordinator serves as a liaison between outside callers and the school’s community, providing direction and assistance as needed, maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality in all areas. Some of the responsibilities include: Monitor physical security of the Founders Hall building to address and report any suspicious activities & behavior to Campus Safety.Supervision of the part-time guest service associates (up to 4 employees) related to daily tasks and work performance.Be well versed in the School’s Mission and history to be able to answer a variety of questions.Conducting tours for scheduled groups and walk-ins.Maintaining schedules of activities and meetings for the building and individual departments within the facility. Understand Building Security Systems to provide backup technical support for the building.Assisting with building evacuations and providing accountability of building personnel.Assisting the coordination of safety education programs with building personnel. The work schedule is year-round Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm during standard business hours and works some occasional evenings and weekends for special events. Starting pay is in the range of $27.00 - $36.00 an hour and pay is determined based on experience. Milton Hershey School does not discriminate in hiring, promotion or any terms or conditions of employment, based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, sex, age, religion or religious creed, veteran status, disability or any other status protected under applicable federal or Pennsylvania law.Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond high school diploma.Minimum of 5 years of security/law enforcement experience required.PA Act 235 certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.Concealed Carry Permit or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.School Resource Officer Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.Valid PA Driver’s License in good standing.Strong knowledge of Milton Hershey School’s mission and history, preferred.Computer skills utilizing internet & Microsoft applications and report writing tools.Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills including conflict management and collaboration skills.High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with a diverse population of adults and students.Exceptional multi-tasking, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to work under pressure/tight deadlines.Able to work independently for multiple stakeholders and prioritize accordingly.Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.MHS desires candidates who are “all in” and are interested in actively engaging with students.
