The responsibilities of this position entail collecting and evaluating data concerning road conditions, traffic control devices, and environmental elements. This involves the planning, design, construction, and upkeep of modifications to enhance highway safety and efficiency, focusing on traffic control devices such as signs, markings, and signals. Field inspections, testing of traffic signal installations, and analysis of both permanent and temporary traffic control measures are also part of the role. Collaboration with various stakeholders is crucial, encompassing fieldwork and office tasks, including data analysis through computer software. Furthermore, the position requires reviewing and aiding in the preparation of traffic impact studies and congestion management studies, while ensuring adherence to Pennsylvania laws and regulations.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, at the discretion of supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee; or

Two years as a Traffic Control Technician; or

One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
