THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a professional Information Technology (IT) Generalist 1 in the Services and Support Division. We are looking for an ambitious candidate to provide technical assistance and IT support to employees in all locations, in addition to providing virtual private network (VPN) support and participating in hardware refresh deployments. As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will provide second-level support and overflow support for items covered by the IT Service Desk. You will perform software installations, upgrades, configurations, and diagnostics, as well as serve as the backup point of contact for VPN administration. Duties include installation and configuration of VPN for client computers, and troubleshooting and correcting VPN issues as they arise.This position also performs PC software audits and removes any non-business-related software. As necessary, you will install detection and removal software and review results with desktop management. You will also have the opportunity to attend seminars, conferences, and training classes, as well as read job related publications to keep current with new information services, products, and IT developments.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Travel as necessary.
Telework: After successful completion of the 6-month probationary period, we will review the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. Telework may or may not be offered and is fluid based on business needs at the time and are subject to change. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation.
