DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this role, the primary area of involvement is overseeing of the federal funded program for persons eligible for gifted services, JAVITS. The Fiscal Management Specialist 1 functions with a considerable degree of independence and latitude, expected to exercise considerable independent professional judgment within the assigned program area with some degree of supervision. You will support the fiscal management of the JAVITS grant by managing the administration of the federal grant, working collaboratively with the program team, Intermediate Units, as well as the contractor. Responsibilities include maintaining the budget, reviewing invoices, and approving payment in compliance with federal guidelines. It is essential that you maintain a working knowledge of accounting and related financial processes to ensure accurate payments to contractors.

Full-time employment.
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, in office 1 day per week, Tuesday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or
One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
