THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a dedicated Administrative Officer to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support by applying DOH and Commonwealth policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the smooth, efficient, and timely operation of programs and administrative functions. If you are passionate about applying your skills to contribute to impactful initiatives and grow into a fulfilling career, we encourage you to apply today!DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will act as the liaison between the Office of Operational Excellence, the Office of Health Equity, and the DOH Human Resource (HR) Office. You will collaborate with supervisors and HR staff to fill vacancies, manage staff onboarding and offboarding, address labor relations issues, and serve as a resource for office staff on HR-related matters. Additionally, you will assess office needs, coordinate the acquisition and replacement of hardware, and oversee the monitoring and usage of office hardware and software inventory. You will manage the configuration and utilization of these assets to support the delivery of public health services. In this position, you will also schedule interviews, coordinate calendars, arrange meetings, and distribute information to ensure that all team members stay informed about relevant updates. Your decision-making will be critical, requiring you to resolve issues, interpret policies and procedures, attend training, and seek guidance from experienced staff when needed.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
