The Department of Human Services (DHS), Bureau of Financial Operations, Division of Financial Reporting, is seeking an Accountant 3 to plan and direct financial cost reporting processes. In this position, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the Medicare cost reporting process for state mental health hospitals, as well as the cost reporting process for youth development centers (YDCs) and youth forestry camps (YFCs). This includes the development and implementation of a computerized cost reporting system and procedural process for YDCs and YFCs, and guidance to the accountants and facility financial managers at state mental hospitals, YDCs, and YFCs. You will develop expertise in the proper use of Medicare rules including Title XVIII Medicare cost principles and their application to mental health hospitals.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report to the office once per month and at additional times as needed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Accountant 2; or

Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
