Description Interim Tax Manager A client of ours is looking for an Interim Tax Manager for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Vertex software, tax compliance regulations, and be adept at managing tax strategies in alignment with our organizational goals.Responsibilities of Interim Tax Manager

Oversee corporate tax functions, including federal, state, and local tax returns.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations, mitigating risk through proactive management of tax issues.

Develop tax-efficient strategies to maximize organizational value.

Manage the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws.

Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate tax reporting.

Handle tax audits and inquiries related to sales and use tax.

Utilize Vertex tax software to streamline and automate tax reporting processes.

Monitor and analyze tax regulations and changes to determine impact on the organization.

Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions, transactions, and new business ventures.

Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies, ensuring compliance with global and domestic requirements.

Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and inter-company agreements.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors on transfer pricing and related matters.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Interim Tax Manager

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MST preferred.

5+ years of experience in corporate tax, transfer pricing, and sales/use tax preparation.

Proficiency in Vertex software and other tax compliance tools.

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, including transfer pricing regulations.

Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across departments.

Critical thinking skills and the ability to provide strategic insights on tax implications.
