Visit us online at www.rhsheppard.com/careersJOB DESCRIPTION:FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary responsibility of this position is to package and ship all outgoing material and for the receipt of all incoming material. The individual must be able to work under moderate supervision. Responsibilities captioned below are considered essential job functions:Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of partsVerify that all material received is in accordance with documentation, weighing/counting parts as necessary to ensure vendor accuracyCoordinate with the appropriate departments to assure that shipping and receiving requirements are metRecord appropriate information into computer mainframe, including inventory transactions, receiving, and labels for spare part ordersContact trucking firms to advise them of available pickups; coordinate their arrivals to minimize waiting time and delaysCoordinate with purchasing departments the status of material that has been expeditedOperate fork lift to load/unload trucks and perform other loading dock duties required to maintain an efficient operationOther duties as assigned; required to be very flexible in their daily job assignmentsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Communication skills, ability to read, write and comprehend instructionAbility to stand, stoop, bend, walk, reach frequently throughout the workdayAbility to lift items up to 40lbs without assistanceKnowledge of shop mathematics and blue print readingProficient with weighing devices, lift trucks, floor walkers, overhead cranesWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:General shop and machine tool noise, dirt, grease, and coolants from the operation of machine and equipment. Normal working position is standing, climbing, and walking throughout the plant. Repetitive lifting/moving is required. The weight can range anywhere from 1 to 125 lbs in which proper lifting/moving techniques are required.EDUCATION & MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:One year working in a Shipping department preferredWORKING HOURS:Monday through Friday 6am-2pm core hours + otWhat does Sheppard have to offer you?
