Join us as a Quality Engineer Your SkillsThe position holder will directly support and provide Quality engineering and Leadership to a designated function and/or product. Take a lead role in the establishment of clearly defined quality metrics and utilize these metrics to identify and implement effective improvement projects. He will be responsible and serve as the focal point for notifications of defects to selected suppliers from Field customers, other Schindler departments and coordinate effective root cause analysis in response. Provide leadership and training of established Quality Management Principles, testing of Electronics to less experienced staff and other functions. Provide feedback to Field, R&D and other stakeholders for overall improvement of Product and Quality processes.

Lead internal and/ or supplier audits to ensure compliance to requirements; drive to obtain effective solutions to findings and verify corrective actions have been implemented and are effective.

Identify and communicate supplier quality issues to Supplier Development, Procurement team and Suppliers. Provide technical assistance as required to assist in resolution.

Take a lead role in the establishment of quality performance measures for designated area(s) of responsibility and report performance on monthly basis. Ensure effective tracking and monitoring done on monthly basis.

Lead and ensure the RMA process complies and have proper tracking and monitoring. Liaison with field to ensure increase in RMA return %.

Identify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects/ field quality claims and improving overall performance.

Provide primary interface to third party audits. Provide technical support and guidance to KW/ECH personnel to prepare for audits and address areas of concern. Perform internal quality system audits as defined by SEC ISO system Assist others to create and maintain 3rd tier ISO documents. Implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance to the quality management systems.

Seek to reduce product and process cost (Cost of Poor Quality) through inputs from team members/Field/ Internal KPI’s. Work with cross functional team members to implement changes identified.

Provide feedback to Production, R&D and Industrialization personnel to ensure that new product designs or changes are designed for manufacture and shipped to meet quality specifications. Participate in the planning and design of products and processes in work centers as needed.

Participate in new elevator codes discussion and ensure ASME/ elevator codes are implemented for suppliers/components. Support CSA & UL audits at defined frequency.

Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.

Perform IPC 610 training and other test jobs training for multiskilling of team.

Ensure change management at supplier premises and participate in PPAP’s, FMEA’s, PRR’s etc at supplier premises as and when needed.

D evelop, and/or conduct, new hire quality orientation and on-going quality improvement.

Provide technical direction to Inspectors, manufacturing personnel and others as to proper inspection method, decisions on Quality issues pertaining to Electrical/Electronic components.

Shop floor visits and lead reviews of current issues and identify improvement actions with suppliers.

Your Experience

Elevator industry experience or equivalent industry experience for the assembly of electrical/ electronic components.

Electrical codes requirements for US and Canada.

Quality control/ Quality Assurance experinece in either PCBA manufacturing or electronic industry.
