Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Mixer Extruder to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on our Weekend Day Shift. This position works Friday-Sunday 5:25AM - 5:25PM.
As a Mixer Operator, this candidate will be responsible for handling raw ingredients to mix the dough and filling the hoppers on the extruders.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for dough mixing.
Gathers raw ingredients needed for mixing.
Operates controls, adding flour and water into mixer.
Places ingredients into mixer.
Removes dough from mixer.
Scrapes mixer and blades to remove dough.
Records the number of batches mixed during the shift and enters ingredient usage into computer.
Monitors dough quality and texture.
Weighs raw pretzels and documents results every 15 minutes. Records extruder speeds and pressure.
Responsible for quality of production on proofing belt.
Checks machinery for wear and communicates to supervisor or maintenance.
Performs product changeovers and shutdowns.
Assembles and dismantles extruder components.
Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
Communicates changes with other shifts.
Trains inexperienced employees in processing.
Maintains an organized and sanitary work area. Prevents contamination from all sources.
Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
Able to read, write, speak and understand sufficient English to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
Be available and dependable for occasional overtime.
Able to lift at least 75 pounds.
Able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift while on duty.
Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Able to commit to the Weekend Day Shift
