Visit us online at www.rhsheppard.com/careersJOB DESCRIPTION:Material HandlerFUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibility of this position is to move skids and load pallets throughout the plant by operating electric floor walkers and hand-operated lift trucks. Incumbent will work under minimal supervision. Responsibilities cited below are considered essential job functions:Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of partsResponsible for moving both raw and finished goods throughout the plant assignment by operating either an electric or hand lift truckRemove chips from machines and move chip carts to empty at assigned chip dock on a daily basisTransport all production scrap and RV's (Return to Vendor) to proper plant locationProvide all machine workstations with necessary coolants and naphtha to ensure smooth operation of the machinesPull pans, clean coolant sumps, and pump coolants from machines by using sump suckers, as neededClean major spills, dispenses and disposes of floor dry, as necessaryOther duties as assigned; Incumbent is required to be very flexible in their dailyjob assignmentsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESCommunication skills, ability to read, write and comprehend instructionAbility to stand, stoop, bend, walk, reachKnowledge of operating electric floor walkersAbility to lift items up to 50 lbs without assistanceMath skillsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements: General shop and machine tool noise, dirt, grease, oil and coolants. Normal working position is sitting, standing or walking, reaching, stooping and operating an electric floor walker, etc throughout the plant. Repetitive lifting/moving is required; will work occasionally outside and will have to be prepared to dress for those assignments. Rain gear will be provided, if needed.
