THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Frackville is seeking a highly motivated Records Specialist Supervisor to provide leadership and technical support for the Records Specialists. As a Records Specialist Supervisor, you prepare and review the record control operation for SCI Frackville and maintain the security of inmate records.Duties include collecting information from various sources to maintain inmate records. You cross-reference information with other agencies to validate the accuracy of the information. You also review court orders and related documentation to determine the appropriate course of action as it relates to release, change in place of confinement, or commitment credit to ensure timely and appropriate presentation for parole consideration or discharge at the expiration of maximum sentence.Additional duties include interviewing, photographing, and fingerprinting inmates upon reception, release, or as needed throughout the duration of confinement. You ensure that all necessary information is collected through the interview process and explain all applicable policies and procedures. You also process photographs and fingerprints to ensure proper identification and appropriate processing for the registration of violent offenders and sex offenders.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience as a Corrections Records Specialist (Commonwealth job title); or

One year of experience as a Records Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title; or

Four years of clerical or correctional custodial experience that includes two years of specialized records work in a correctional facility; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of specialized records work experience in a correctional facility.

Other Requirements:Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
