THE POSITION

Are you interested in both a rewarding and challenging career overseeing mental health delivery at a State Correctional Institution (SCI) The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PA DOC) is one of the largest providers of mental health treatment. The PA DOC serves a diverse population of individuals who are in need of mental health services. As LPM, you will be responsible for the overall administration of an SCI's psychological services program. Work involves supervising a masters-level psychological services staff; evaluating the effectiveness of inmate mental health services; and developing and integrating PA DOC policies and procedures. Work is performed under the general direction of a Deputy Corrections Superintendent, Director of Psychology Office, or other administrative superior; and is subject to review through consultation, written reports and evaluations of program effectiveness.DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn the role of Licensed Psychologist Manager for the Department of Corrections at Mahanoy, you will oversee the strategic planning, organization, and management of the institution's psychological services program. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various disciplines to ensure the effective implementation of the psychological services program, as well as formulating and documenting new policies and procedures for current initiatives. Additionally, you will lead the Population Psychiatric Review Team and serve as a permanent member of the Clinical Review Team focused on cases of suicide and attempted suicide, working closely with psychiatric and medical personnel. Furthermore, you will conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of inmates to support their mental health needs.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment (37.5-hour work week)

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist; orOne year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation or behavioral dysfunction.Special Requirement:You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
