In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with senior track designers and railroad industry leaders and lead track designers through the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative track systems on railroad and transit projects around the region. The ideal candidate is an expert in track design, has strong leadership skills, and is excited to play a pivotal role in our newly established Track Design Team. This position offers a blend of remote and on-site work in Philadelphia.

These duties will be coordinated directly with the clients, agencies, and project team.
Assist in all aspects of track design including the preparation of track plans, drafting reports, and writing specifications.
Technical lead and mentor for track design staff.
Responsible for quality control, checking computations while reviewing design work and engineering drawings performed by others.
Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, InRoads/InRail, and MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience preferred.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering. Appropriate graduate level work. Master's degree preferred.
6 - 10 years of professional experience. PE Required.
The target candidate will have experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring projects involving both overhead and underground engineering systems.
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
Manage work rou ine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
Complete other duties as required/assigned
Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
Chart and provide task performance results
Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
Provide technical project and staff oversight
Serve as task manager on select projects
Compare field data to base plan
Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval
Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
Review and approve shop drawings
