OverviewColliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Geographic Discipline Leader to join our Mid-Atlantic Environmental team.

ResponsibilitiesServe a key function in identifying and managing environmental remediation / due-diligence projects & proposals in the greater Mid-Atlantic region.

Participate in the identification / pursuit of new clients as well as develop additional work within an existing network of clients.

Perform duties in support of the direction and vision of the overall discipline such as overseeing, directing, and managing the work effort of assigned staff and collaborating with other Geographic Discipline Leaders to work toward a common goal.

Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed. Performs duties in support of the direction and vision of the overall discipline.

Oversees, directs and manages the work effort of assigned staff.

Collaborate with other GDL's within the region and with the Regional Discipline Leader.

Responsible for productivity, profitability, client satisfaction and quality of work.

Active involvement with marketing and business development.

Responsible for proposal development and contract execution.

Responsible for billings and collections.

Monitors work backlog and the sharing of work within the region and discipline.

Actively involved in the cross selling of all company services.

Develops the skills and abilities of staff which are necessary for the successful execution of the work.

Reviews staff utilization regularly to address employees not meeting utilization goals.

Ensures compliance with and enforces company Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Serve as a resource for project managers and staff on assigned projects and manage completion of projects regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget.

Provide staff/managers with technical assistance and supervision in the preparation of proposals and contracts for assigned projects.

Coordinate and work closely with accounting/billing to develop and review project invoices, monitoring those of assigned billing managers. Complete all billing in a timely manner.

Manage the financial aspects of assigned team(s) and monitor the performance of the business to meet or exceed revenue and/or profit goals.

Assist with project manager's efforts to prepare for and/or attend client/agency meetings with, or for PMs to present information pertinent to the project. Develop innovative, comprehensive multimedia support materials for client and/or agency meetings.

Develop the skills and abilities of staff which are necessary for successful execution of work duties. Serve as a mentor and coach staff.

Assist with the quality control/quality assurance efforts on all assigned projects.

Manage the performance of all assigned staff, conduct performance evaluations, provide input for all raise and bonus discussions.

Provide and monitor performance goals for assigned staff.

Meet with assigned staff to provide feedback and review job performance on a regular basis.

Address any performance issues on a timely basis and work with HR as needed to create performance improvement plans.

QualificationsBachelor's degree (preferably in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related scientific field of study).

Minimum of 15 years of professional experience working in Environmental Science / Engineering (preferably with environmental investigations and/or remediation projects).

Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) and New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP).

Expertise with environmental investigation, remediation / remedial action practices in PA & NJ; experience working with the PADEP Land Recycling (Act 2) and NJDEP LSRP Programs.

Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.

Ability to work in a self-motivated manner wh le effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.

Expertise with relevant & applicable regulations (e.g.: ASTM, CERCLA, RCRA, etc.).
