This is an entry level Lab Technician position which receives training from others regarding tasks and with the expectation that following training, the individual should be able to perform all repetitive/routine tasks without direction. Following safety protocols is the number one priority and all technicians are expected to take ownership of their safety and the safety of their co-workers.Job involves the following:
Provide quality assurance testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
Evaluate data using appropriate software to ensure the results meet internal and external specifications.
Notify management of unusual product observations, results or instrumentation issues.
Support the continuous improvement of lab and site processes.
Pay: $20/hr Schedule : Monday- Friday, Daylight hoursMinimum Qualifications
Basic math skills
Basic understanding of general chemistry
Basic computer skills using software packages such as Microsoft Office and email
Detail oriented with the ability to record and report pertinent data.
Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
Good communication skills (oral and written).
Bachelor's (no experience) or Associates in Science with relevant experience (>2 years) preferred.
Prefer:
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting ISO9000 desired.
Experience with SAP/LIMS desired.
Experience running various lab instrumentation such as GC's, Titrators, FTIR, etc.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or type; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; frequent use of computers and computer monitors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to office environments including computers, office machines, and communication devices. Wearing PPE and following procedures is a requirement of the job when leaving the office environment to enter the plant facilities or labs
Must meet respiratory requirements.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low, but will increase to moderate or higher in the plant areas.
Additional Requirements
Must complete a background check in compliance with pre-employment policies
Must complete a pre-employment drug screen and a physical in compliance with pre-employment policies.
The ability to work scheduled shifts; flexibility to adjust work hours, as necessary, to meet the needs and demands of the plant and employees.
