Job Description: Directs and manages the care of designated patients. Responsible and accountable to operate cardiac diagnostic equipment in order to provide high quality cardiac diagnostic testing. This includes: electrocardiogram, holter monitor hook-up,disconnect and scanning, stress testing and conscious sedation monitoring as eligible according to education, training and experience. Perform a variety of support services and clerical tasks as dictated by department and patient needs.Minimum Requirements: One year working as a cardiac nurse in an acute care hospital setting. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure. Cardiac dysrhythmia knowledge and recognition. Cardiology anatomy and physiology, Cardiac monitoring and arrythmia recognition, terminology. BLS, ACLS within 2yr. Demonstrates effective communication skills. Demonstrates initiative and is able to function independently as well as interdependently. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and hospital staff. Demonstrates the ability to initiate, accept and adapt to change. Demonstrates time management and organizational skills. Basic computer skills.Preferred Qualifications: Three years working as a cardiac nurse in an acute care hospital setting.Licensure and Certifications: Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure.
