- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics or Related Discipline.
- At least 2 additional years of experience in an Engineering position.
- Experience with the design of new processors, best practices and utilizing model-based strategies.
- Experience in software development & qualification for transportation drive systems.
- Experience with system level validation test planning and execution.
- Understanding of C, C, MATLAB and Simulink with ability to troubleshoot and identify coding structures to mitigate latency, performance and maintainability amongst other software engineers on the team.
- Ability and willingness to work "hands-on" in test labs and on locomotives or off-highway trucks with high HP (1000 KVA), medium voltage (2 KV) and high current (10 KA) systems.
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.

- Both folks will focus in Embedded “C” control in our traction motor control applications for Locomotive and Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV).
- Candidates will both work extensively in lab/simulator environments to test new inverter control SW and analysis data and meeting of requirements.
- Candidates will need to understand induction motor control theory with closed loop control. They will quickly get ramped up in understand our embedded SW with senior level engineers and will be tasked on testing new functionality that we are developing for our Battery Locomotive and on our Trolley applications for OHV.

- Deep understanding of “C”, MATLAB/Simulink and ability to test in a controlled lab environment with data processing and data collection techniques.
- Candidates will need to understand the control functions they are testing, modifying code as needed for debug, analyze data and format for presentations.
- Candidates should have strong communication skills and be able to prepare technical documentation in a structured format for clear understanding.
- Design, develop and test C-based software within the Traction Motor Controller (TMC) cards, which provide the core traction and auxiliary functions for locomotives and off-highway mining trucks.
- The Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs and processes for an area or business segment.
- Develop application layer software in C# for use in the Microsoft Power PC and other legacy processor devices specific to inverter control requirements on locomotives and off-highway vehicles (OHV).
- Design, Refine and Maintain proper inverter control for various chopper, blower, induction-motor, battery charging and dual mode applications.
- Define the application requirements, architecture, specification and/or design and validation of inverter drive systems and auxiliary control architectures.
- Develop ownership for next generation control topologies and implementation focused around Zynq FPGAs and embedded processors.
- Support integration of components with controllers onto locomotive and off-highway mining truck systems.
- Support the investigation, root-cause identification and resolution of electric drives SW reliability issues. Support the evaluation and conceptualization of new electric drives control technology and applications.
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements. Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
