Job Description

OverviewThe purpose of the Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) is to expand 84 Lumber Company's footprint by leveraging our Minority and Women Owned (MWBE) status/certifications to drive sales to customers with diversity requirements or goals. This will increase our market share by expanding 84 Lumber Company's target customer list and increasing sales with existing customers. The Market Manager's responsibility is to gain exposure in this marketplace, network and to provide additional customer/project opportunities to increase opportunities and drive additional sales to 84 Lumber stores. In addition, the Market Manager will proactively engage 84 Lumber Market Sales Managers and Commercial Hubs (8) in understanding the opportunities our certification can provide and in targeting new business.

ResponsibilitiesWorks with 84 Lumber store locations and THQ to educate associates and drives sales to this customer base

Works with government sales to pursue government contracts

Networks through MWBE focused organizations, particularly responsible for relationship with WBENC

Meets with corporate, government and commercial customers in order to highlight the advantages of a WBE business partner

Visits jobsites and pursues and shares job bids to continue future business or pursue new business with this customer base

Visits 84 Lumber Commercial Hubs to educate and assist with new Targets (related to WBE opportunities)

Visits and travels with 84 Lumber Market Managers post Target Customer research, to help provide MM with education on the WBE Space and grow area business.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
