What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a skilled Childcare Food Service Manager to prepare delicious meals for our programs. A Day in the Life as a Childcare Food Service ManagerAs a Childcare Food Service Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and distributing meals and snacks daily to over 100 children. Along with meal prep, you will be responsible for taking inventory weekly and receiving and putting that food away at the time of delivery.Responsibilities As A Childcare Food Service Manager
Assist in the daily operations of food service
Prepare and cook food as the menu indicates
Set up food, supplies, and utensils for meal service
Store food and leftovers at proper temperature with appropriate labeling
Assist in routine sanitation of the kitchen and related equipment
Clean and maintain all food preparation and storage areas
Supervise the cleaning of prep, serving, and dining dishes
Reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as indicated through the facility’s procedures
Maintain inventory counts of products
Maintain organization of freezers and refrigerators
Work as a member of the childcare team
Check with a Childcare Director regarding any food allergies and or dietary needs.
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned.

At least one year of work experience as a cook preferred
Possess or obtain current food service certification
Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to kitchen rules/safety
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Desire and ability to work with children
Ability to work in a team
Very good communication skills
Excellent physical condition and stamina
Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.
Annual CACFP Training
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required

use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device
The work is performed both indoors and out and may require travel to various locations.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
