DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To lead engineering projects, bring new products to production, and improve existing products within the established time frames in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocolsRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Facilitate meetings for product development and design reviews with both internal and external stake holders

Construct and maintain project timelines and Design History Files (DHF's)

Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers

Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals

Document and report project progress to stakeholders

Provide timely responses to project related questions via multiple communication channels

Produce innovative designs that improve existing products by aiding in manufacturability and improving quality while reducing fields claims in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols

Produce innovative designs for accessories that complements Pride's product line in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols

Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met

Develop, release and revise mechanical drawings and 3D models

Assist and direct selection of materials for best application

Create and implement Change Orders to release new option, model, and finished good Bill of Materials (BOM)

Plan and create model and finished good BOMs that meet the requirements of Engineering, Sales, Reimbursement, Purchasing, Inventory, Manufacturing, Distribution, Technical Service, & Finance

Assist Pride's internal teams to qualify new suppliers and/or alternative components to ensure global production needs are met

Perform inspections, verification and validation testing on parts and products

Mechanical building and assembly of prototype products such as beta samples, show samples, and test samples when needed

Assist in continuous improvement of design procedure and protocol to help drive design efficiency

Develop familiarity with regulatory requirements to make compliance recommendations

Travel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launches

Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training, HIPAA and all Safety Training

Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessaryREQUIRED SKILLS

Must be skilled in time management, and be a creative team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and honest

Must have the ability to:

Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

Use hand tools and standard power tools

Read and comprehend work instructions

Prepare and build prototypes

Prepare and present summary reports

Travel internationally at least twice a year for up to 2 weeks at a time

Lift/push/pull 40 lbs.

Must have:

Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

Basic working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo

Strong mechanical inclination

Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills

Proven successful time management and organizational skills to plan, design and implement each stage of a project within specific time constraints

Ability to guide, direct, and motivate team membersPREFERRED SKILLS

Basic familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation preferred

Basic understanding of Lean Principles pref rred

Basic working knowledge of RoHS/REACH preferredREQUIRED EXPERIENCE

At least 1 years of experience in project management or Research & Development, OR at least 1 year of related professional experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detailed drawingsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE

At least 3 years of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience preferred

At least 3 years of professional experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings preferred

At least 1 year of hands-on experience with machining, welding, and fabrication of mechanical assemblies preferred

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of fabricated mechanical structures preferred

At least 1 years of experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) preferred

At least 1 year of staff management experience in a Manufacturing or Product Development environment preferred

At least 3 years of experience with the specific products preferred

Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferredREQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, OR Associate Degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 6 years of experience in designing mechanical systems and assemblies

OR High School Diploma with at least 12 years of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environmentPREFERRED EDUCATION

Master's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, or Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred

Project Management Professional Certification or Certified Associate in Project Management CAPM preferredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
