THE POSITION

In this position, you will perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair and maintenance of buildings, fixtures, machinery, and equipment. Work is performed in the electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and masonry trades. Some of your duties include repairing doors, doorframes, and furniture; preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces; installing and repairing various fixtures including sinks, and faucets; and repairing air conditioning and heating equipment. Your duties will require you to operate and maintain both manual and power tools of the trade on a regular basis.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, rotating days and every other weekend, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or

Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Experience in electrical trade, industrial carpentry and plumbing trade.

Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems.

Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment.

Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels.

Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats and instantaneous water heaters.

Experience with provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repairs of buildings.

Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings.

Experience in the maintenance or repair of commercial buildings.

Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
