AECOM is seeking a PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER - CIVIL HIGHWAY to be based in either the Philadelphia, PA or Conshohocken, PA offices.In this role, you will provide technical leadership to teams working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area.Current notable projects include:CITY OF PHILADELPHIA PASCHALL-ELMWOOD BRIDGES (Philadelphia, PA) – Replacement or rehabilitation of three bridges over Amtrak to bring them to good condition, alleviate any existing traffic congestion to maximum extent possible, and provide feasible multimodal transportation asset for the communitySEPTA MAINLINE RECONSTRUCTION (Philadelphia, PA) – Replacement or rehabilitation of seven bridges between 30th Street and Suburban Station. Project includes traffic control, 3D modeling and construction phasing, stakeholder and 3rd party coordination, construction scheduling and bid services.US-22 RECONSTRUCTION (Allentown, PA) – Urban interstate widening from 4 to 6 lanes. Project Includes bridge replacement, interchange reconfiguration, stream relocation, sound barriers, safety improvements, traffic control, and utility coordination.I-81 RECONSTRUCTION (Avoca, Moosic, and Scranton, PA) - Urban Interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, 2 interchanges being fully reconstructed including ramp realignments, intersection improvements, right-of- way coordination, and structure coordination for 15 bridges along mainline and ramps.PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE MP 316-319 (Charlestown Township, PA) - Urban interstate reconstruction on alignment and widening from 4 to 6 lanes, including utility coordination, bridge replacements, and sound barriers as well as coordination with an adjacent project.The PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER - CIVIL HIGHWAY candidate will delegate tasks to less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance and support to those individuals. As a professional engineer licensed in Pennsylvania, they will use prior experience with publications, manuals, and processes considered standard to PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, City of Philadelphia, and/or SEPTA.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Develop design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation detailsDevelop rigid and flexible pavement designsPrepare signing and pavement marking plans and detailsPrepare construction phasing plans and develop maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviewsIdentify utility conflicts and coordinate resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needsDevelop construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimatesImplement 3D CADD modeling techniquesDevelop technical reports, tables, and graphics per client and/or internal AECOM standardsAdhere to and promote AECOM quality proceduresComplete interdisciplinary technical reviewsContribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budgetDevelop project design schedules for submissions and internal milestones in coordination with project managerPrepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitationsWork collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client’s scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision makingProvide support to AECOM project managers and department managersContribute to the development of technical scope and price proposals AttributesSenior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for teamProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by othersParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsUses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E packagePerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsAnalyzes complex issues and recommends solutions which may lead to improvements in methodologiesUses judgement outside defined parameters and precedents to make decisionsIdentifies better techniques to improve quality and enhance operation excellenceAdopts new perspectives and views to approach work and accommodate to changeConveys complex or sensitive information, topics, and concepts with internal and external stakeholdersPersuades others to consider various optionsPossesses strong technical skills acquired through advanced training, study and experienceProvides structured guidance and training to develop team capabilitiesActively participates in professional or industry organizations as a committee member
