The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is actively seeking a talented plumber to join our Facility Services Team and Plumbing Shop at Clarks Summit State Hospital. In this position, you will be responsible for performing a range of technical plumbing tasks, including installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting plumbing systems, steam systems, equipment, and fixtures. Our facility spans over 152 acres and includes more than 40 buildings. If you are ready to advance your plumbing career and take on a new and exciting challenge, we have the ideal opportunity for you!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Plumber 1, you will handle a variety of plumbing projects, both large and small, addressing repair or replacement issues that arise daily on hospital grounds and buildings. Your work will encompass new construction, repairs, and maintenance of existing structures to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You may work independently or as part of a team, depending on the task at hand. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing air conditioning and HVAC units, such as clearing blocked drains and changing filters, as well as checking pneumatic thermostats, steam traps, steam regulators, condensate pumps, and flushometers for proper operation. You will also complete weekly preventative maintenance work orders to ensure the efficient operation of plumbing and heating equipment, and maintain accurate records of daily tasks, work orders, and work logs.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
A rotating schedule for weekends and holidays, working every 12th weekend and holiday.
Travel and overtime as needed.
