Shipping Coordinator - Day Shift

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring for a Shipping Coordinator to support our Operations Team in Chambersburg, PA.  A Shipping Coordinator ensures shipping schedule is completed for all daily shipments, both domestic and international.  This person acts as a backup to the Shipping Lead.Want to join a key team that helps the world read?At Ingram, the Operations team serves a key role within the organization.  We ensure that our distribution centers and warehouse facilities function at maximum efficiency.   Safety is a core value in our distribution environment.  We emphasize this through training, education, and accident prevention programs.  Process Improvement is another core value, and through innovations such as voice and Radio Frequency (RF) technologies, as well as feedback from our associates, we work toward constant improvement.The world is reading, and it is our goal to connect as many people to the content they want in the simplest ways.  If you want to be part of a customer-centric team that strives for excellence, collaboration, innovation, we can’t wait to meet you!Schedule: M-F 11am-7:30pmPay:$19.00 per hourWhat You'll Need:6 months work experience in at least one previous job6 months work experience which included walking, standing, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, gripping/grasping, bending, squatting/kneeling, twisting/turning, climbing, crawling, reaching above shoulders, typing/keyboardWhat You'll Do:Answers phones and converses daily with the Transportation office through faxing logs, manifests and various paperwork.Completes daily paperwork and filing duties; ensures all domestic and foreign documents are accurate and correct.Makes sound decisions with regard to timeliness of domestic and international shipping.Ensures timeliness of domestic and international shipping.Closes or consolidates freight. Completes all post office documentation, Fed-Ex air forms.Calls appropriate LTL freight companies for daily pickups. Makes sure documentation is filled out properly for the different publishers combining bulk pull skids and labeling with placards for all IPS orders.Stacks freight on skids’ ensuring accuracy for all carton and skid counts to be shipped.  and correctly matches commercial invoices to order.Makes sure packages have proper documents and transmit tracking numbers to appropriate customers to include furnishing copies to LaVergne for UOS Worldship parcels.Utilizes office equipment i.e., data fax, copier, PC, e-mail, PKMS systems terminal, UPS Worldship, Fed-Ex and DHL Easyship.Maintains a thorough knowledge of all ship vias and changes/updates received.Communicates with other departments to ensure tasks are completed and received in the Shipping department by scheduled departure times.Instructs other associates to wrap and/or load specific pallets when orders are complete.Converts package weight from pound to metric to insure accurate shipping.Essential Physical Demands:Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shiftAbility to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 70lbs during the assigned shift – 30lbs or less continuously, 31- 50lbs frequently and 51-70lbs occasionallyAbility to push/pull in a warehouse environment up to 70lbs force to push during the assigned shift - 1-50lbs continuously and 51-70lbs occasionallyAbility to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shiftAbility to bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn, climb, crawl, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shiftWillingness and ability to be equipment certified and able to meet physical requirements of equipment operatorAbility to work designated shift including overtime as required, which could include time before or after the designated shift and/or weekendsExposure to wide range of temperatures
