Job Class Specifics:
Maintains the patient treatment areas in a constant state of preparedness for patient care, in clean, orderly manner; ensures that equipment/supplies are returned to proper storage areas in a timely manner following use.
Maintains proper inventory and prepares all necessary linen, equipment and necessary patient supplies for the patient's treatment, as appropriate for the patient's plan of care, in a timely manner.
As needed, plans for the timely transport, arrival, and departure of patients from the treatment area, in the absence of transport personnel or in assistance to primary care staff.
Assists with basic patient care needs include toileting; preparing and tearing down booth, gathering necessary treatment supplies, wiping down equipment between patient use according to operational protocol, etc.
Observes patient behavior and response during and after treatment; relays information to care provider as appropriate.
Assists in positioning, lifting, turning, applying/using special equipment during patient care; utilizes proper body mechanics and procedures to ensure patient and personal safety.
Assures all equipment is cleaned and properly maintained as per departmental policy and accrediting organizations.
As necessary, answers phone and processes voicemails; conveys thorough and accurate information to the appropriate individuals.
Maintains departmental data as assigned by the therapist or supervisor.
Proficient at scanning.
Prepares inpatient therapists' daily patient schedule in accordance with operational processes.
Attends Rehab Huddle and uses input for appropriate scheduling.
Assists with processes and activities necessary to open and/or secure department at closing.
Monitors Rehab treatment minutes; follows up as appropriate.
Assists with OP therapy scheduling as needed and in accordance with operational processes.
Assists with updating operational manuals.

Working Environment: Work is performed in a clean, clinical environment. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases or to bodily fluids which may contain infectious agents. One year of work experience in direct patient care with Nurses Aide or EMT training or three years of direct patient care experience in an OT or PT department of a health care facility preferred. Must have an understanding of medical terminology, disease entities and treatment, including basic infection control procedures.
