Description We are looking for a skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The Sr. Accountant will be tasked with a broad range of responsibilities, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and providing financial advice to our team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our financial department, and the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and experience with financial software.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable Manage daily data entry and generate regular reports Oversee monthly bank reconciliations and loan management Handle customer and vendor interfaces concerning payments and invoicing Administer year-end tax closeout and 1099 distribution Assist in payroll and benefits administration Track subcontractor Worker’s Compensation and General Liability insurance Manage email correspondence on behalf of the Finance Department Maintain high-quality data and provide frequent reporting to the Finance Manager and Senior Leadership Carry out other duties as required, to support daily operations of the Finance Department. Requirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 5 years of relevant work experience in an accounting role. Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Hands-on experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Familiarity with journal entries and their impact on financial statements. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use advanced formulas and functions. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Demonstrated ability to comply with all financial regulations and legal requirements. Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial staff. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is highly desirable.
