Seeking an outstanding candidate to join ANSYS electronic R&D team responsible for the industry leading simulation tool with the gold standard ANSYS Maxwellsimulation software product. We welcome applicants with a strong background in various simulation and modeling techniques with a focus on new FEM algorithms for low frequency electromagnetics applications. The successful candidate will have a solid background in scientific software development, the ability to develop novel solution approaches, and experience in the application of scientific principles to analyzing engineering problems.RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in planning, architecture, and research
Performs complex development activities that require design and implementation of new solver algorithms in C
Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
Investigates problems discovered by QA or product support, and develops solutions
Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities
May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reportsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2 years' experience, MSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in computational electromagnetics
Strong knowledge of electromagnetic fields and their applications, particularly low frequency electromagnetics
Strong knowledge of finite element methods in electromagnetics
Knowledge of high-performance computing including domain decompositions techniques
Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
