Company :Allegheny Health NetworkJob Description :GENERAL OVERVIEWProvides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the pre-hospital and hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of emergency medical care.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting. (50%)
Drives emergency vehicle. (20%)
Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.(15%)
Performs other duties as assigned or required
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PA EMT certification
EMSVO within 30 days of hire
Valid Driver's License
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
Six months’ experience in the field of prehospital care.
ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS.
