Position Summary:This is an assistant position that helps with the day-to-day operations of GAC facilities. Responsibilities of the facilities assistant may include, but limited to, handling building repairs (or retain a contractor to do the work), overseeing both janitorial and lawn maintenance, snow removal services. Responsible for maintenance of Gaiser fleet of vehilces.Organization Responsibilities:
Promote and follow safe working practices and take necessary steps to prevent injuries
Comply with confidentiality policies and procedures including but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Position Responsibilities:
Review /discuss daily duties with facilities manager.
Performs basic custodial and/ or maintenance responsibilities.
Utilizes tools, materials and equipment related to assigned area of responsibility and simple repairs; assists with more technical repairs.
Performs basic building or other maintenance work.
Reports property damage, equipment malfunctions, unusual activities as appropriate.
May coordinate, monitor and/or schedule activities with set limits and/or policy.
Monitors supply/ equipment use and records inventory and needs.
Coordinate with outside contractors for repairs beyond capabilities
Review contracts with snow removal/ lawn care services
Monitors quality of snow removal/ lawn care services and speaks to businesses as necessary.

- Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Respond to emergency facilities issues, coordinating resolution with manager.
- Monitor and replenish housekeeping products.
- Maintain client transportation vehicles.
- Perform outdoor seasonal custodial duties i.e. leaf and snow removal
- Oversee maintenance log book
- Perform monthly fire drills```{=html}```
- Cleaning of client rooms and linens following discharge (coordinate w/ other shifts)
- General housekeeping duties, i.e. run sweeper, and empty garbage cans
- Complete incident reports as needed
- Other duties as assignedMinimum Experience and Training:High School Diploma or GED
Sound knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical wiring.
Proven general maintenance experience
The ability to safely operate hand and power tools as well as cleaning equipment
The ability to lift 100 lbs
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent time management skills
Effective communication skills
Profile/Other Competencies:
Valid PA Driver's license and in good standing
Must be able to maintain professional boundaries with clients and other staff
Prior residential aide experience preferred
Must be energetic and able to multi-task
Must be responsible, reliable and able to act ethically without direct supervision
Demonstrate ability to respond to crisis situations and make good decisions under stress
Work effectively with clients, co-workers, and supervisors from diverse backgrounds
