Responsible for managing, reviewing, and filing of the Federal and State income tax returns, and other returns necessary. Coordinates the filing and preparation of these returns directly through a third-party co-sourcing engagement. Assures tax payments are made timely. Supports other tax compliance projects including accounting method changes and appeals.

Responsible for analysis of the provision to tax returns and explaining adjustments in conjunction with the Tax Director.

Responsible for updates, maintenance, and administration of Power Tax system.

Assist in implementing, documenting, and improving proper tax accounting procedures. Assures that methods and procedures developed will limit the Company's exposure in the event of audit.

Responsible for tax depreciation calculations and maintaining deferred tax records. Prepares supporting schedules necessary for the completion of tax returns.

Supervises and reviews tax accountants in the preparation of compliance and provision workpapers.

Reviews subsidiary unit tax packages for both compliance and financial reporting.

Responsible for researching tax laws and significant transactions, assessing impact on company, and drafting internal memos to document Company's tax positions.

Responsible to stay current on significant new Federal and state tax legislation and related financial accounting developments about compliance and tax provision issues that may impact the Company.

Assists in due diligence required in all acquisitions, mergers, and reorganizations. Determines tax basis of assets necessary to record acquisitions through analysis of historical tax filings.

Works closely with external tax auditors to ensure timely review and resolution of any issues during the financial close process.

Works closely with external tax auditors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of federal and state tax audits while working to reduce the Company's liability.

Identifies tax issues or areas of concern and brings to resolution.

Assists in the preparation and review of tax provision schedules and information under ASC740.

Responsible for one or more key internal controls in support of the Company's financial reporting process, the proper functionality of which play an important role in determining whether the Company's overall internal controls are functioning effectively.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, law, or tax required

CPA designation or MS in Taxation

Minimum of eight years of experience in progressively responsible positions in tax with demonstrated leadership experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Extensive knowledge tax laws and requirements.

Extensive knowledge of ASC 740 and ASC 980.

Pr ven expertise in federal and state corporate tax compliance, tax research, and risk analysis, with regulated utility industry knowledge.

Previous management experience directing and overseeing tax professionals, with excellent organizational and leadership skills required.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered multi-tasking environment.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
