Job Description
- Prepare hydraulic equipment for testing:
- Test power units, accumulator stands, manifold tables, cylinders, hydraulic motors, and pneumatic systems to verify function per our standards and /or customer specifications (Factory Acceptance Test), including electrical and electronically integrated components.
- Test "Show" units.
- Participate in Research and Development.
- Provide support to Project Managers for new and existing systems.
- Troubleshoot cause of problems or unexpected or unsatisfactory test results.
- Perform customer testing and training of customers during witness testing.
- Document changes as needed on appropriate paperwork, in accordance with ISO procedures and work instructions, with the Project Manager.
- Assist Project Manager in the writing or correction of test procedures for customer tests (FAT).
- Tear down power unit after testing; includes removing any equipment installed for testing purposes.
- Draw monthly oil samples of holding tanks for QMM department.
- Process electronic paperwork in conjunction with testing; fill out test reports and other required test forms (i.e., customer test forms, special testing, etc.).
- Identify and repair problem; could involve replacing/repair or conversion of component, and or providing an alternative design solution.
- Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent from an accredited school (ex. PA Dept of Education, FL Dept of Education, US Military).
- Minimum four years of hydraulic or mechanical experience.
- Minimum two years of system test experience.
- Technical knowledge of operation of various components, including pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, etc.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
- Must be able to become qualified electrical worker.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic assembly drawings and schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret power unit electrical prints to verify correct operation of electrical components.
- Ability to interpret and write test procedures.
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Able to be certified to operate forklift, overhead cranes and pallet jacks to move and relocate power units.
- Able to use various power and hand tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication
