Emergency Response Dispatch and coordinate all requests for Police, Fire, Emergency Medical, Security Services or other services Provide appropriate police response to information received and/or observed Must be able to ask questions to determine seriousness of the caller's emergency to dispatch emergency responders to their location in a timely manner Responsible for monitoring and dispatching emergency responders to all exterior/interior academic and residential door alarms which may be forced or propped open on campus wide electronic access system, C-Cure 9000 Responsible for monitoring and dispatching emergency responders to all fire alarms and sprinkler systems on all academic and residential buildings through Keltron System. Assist Life Safety with testing of all fire systems on a monthly basis Responsible for monitoring and dispatching emergency responders to all burglar and panic alarms located in various academic offices throughout campus Responsible for monitoring over 200 video surveillance cameras both on and off campus and dispatching emergency responders to various locations based on observations witnessed on video surveillance system. Assist officers in locating suspects, vehicles or victims of reported incidents Responsible for sending out emergency mass notifications to the Lehigh community to the in response to serious incidents on campus Responsible for dispatching emergency responders to various locations to calls for assistance received from emergency blue light phones as well as mobile blue light system through HawkWatch personal safety application Responsible for monitoring and dispatching emergency responders to anonymous crime tips submitted through Hawkwatch personal safety application Responsible for monitoring virtual walk home/virtual escort requests through Hawkwatch personal safety application. Assist with dispatching a security guard or officer to walking escort requests Responsible for dispatching Lehigh University Emergency Medical Services (LUEMS) to a variety of medical calls on campus and serves as the liaison between LUPD and LUEMS via radio communication Operates multi-line telephone console system and radio equipment to accurately send and receive messages Must be able to effectively handle multiple, differing tasks simultaneously; in multiple pieces of technology and software applications, to make critical decisions that affect campus wide response and reaction 2. Serve as the first point on contact for community members who are seeking assistance with their emergency, non-emergency and service request calls Handles both in-person and telephone inquiries and provide general University information about the campus on a 24 hour, seven (7) day basis Serve as point of contact for all students/faculty/staff regardin facility maintenance emergencies as well as IDEAL electronic access issues during non-business hours, evenings and weekends Serve as point of contact for all student/faculty/staff with lockouts from all academic and residential buildings on campus as well as some residential buildings off-campus Manages and distributes university keys for housing services to students during non-business hours as well as for contractors working on campus during evenings and weekends by maintaining proper custody of university keys Must be able to analyze the caller's situation as to resolve problems, provide information, dispatch emergency services, or refer the caller to other university departments Must be service oriented team player committed to assisting members of the Lehigh University Community Exercises the ability to make accurate decisions related to a situation in a timely manner 3. Administration Responsible for creating and maintaining complaint reports of all dispatched calls into department Records Management System Monitors and report any issues relating to campus wide emergency systems Monitors global positioning system (GPS) on police vehicles on and off campus Monitors holding cell activity when occupied utilizing audio/video recording systems Assists with training and education of new dispatchers Develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with other departments on campus Understands and follows all department as well as University policies and procedures Works independently and knows when to seek assistance
