Second Deputy Controller

·Supervises internship program.·Writes audit programs and procedures.·Conducts financial audits and provides written analyses of same.·Analyzes accounting systems and internal controls and recommends corrective actions where needed as a result of audits.·Assists external auditors with collection and preparation of audit schedules.·Assists County offices in preparation of federal and state reports.·Conducts training seminars for elected tax collectors and municipal auditors.·Operates computer and other office machines to prepare financial information.·Prepares financial statements, state invoices, and fiscal reports.·Audits all petty cash funds within the County.·Evaluates internal controls to determine compliance with applicable sections of County Code.·Organizes and plans daily workflow to perform necessary audits and other scheduled duties.·Assists in daily accounting functions of Controller and other County offices.·Researches and implements current and changing accounting rules/laws that will affect audit under consultation with and direction of Controller/First Deputy Controller.·Prepares reports and input for federal and state agency reports·Researches financial issues and prepares special financial analyses as needed.·Serves on County committees as required.·Attends meetings and training sessions as required.·Performs other job-related duties as required.
