THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Rockview is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corrections Locksmith to join our team. Your work will be crucial in maintaining the safety and security of employees, inmates, and visitors at the facility. As a Corrections Locksmith, you will perform various tasks related to the installation, service, and repair of mechanically, electronically, and pneumatically controlled equipment. Your work will involve performing routine and preventative maintenance checks to ensure operability of equipment. You will produce original and duplicate keys from blanks; log broken, damaged, and lost keys; and make necessary adjustments to master and issued key sets. Duties also include overseeing inmates in the performance of non-security related tasks such as moving materials, hanging doors, and repairing door closures.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
This position is eligible for retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience in the locksmith trade; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
