Welder- Non-Ferrous Castings
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
Responsible for welding Stick & TIG process. Also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by supervisor.
· Understand heat and the effects on weldments.
· Understand differences in alloys and filler metals
· Must be able to read Shop Travelers, part drawings and parts to be welded.
Ability to read drawings.
· Follow procedure and set up to drawings or instructions to determine the specific
welding requirements.
· Positions piece manually, with use of hoist, overhead crane, or forklift.
· Prepare surfaces using hand or air chisel, hammer, wire brush or grinder.
· Sets up proper voltage, current, polarity, and gas pressure for procedure.·.
· Unloads work manually, with use of hoist, overhead crane, and forklift.
· Other duties as assigned by competent authority
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
· Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Motivated, punctual and have excellent work ethic, such as reliability and dependability.
· Physical strength, agility to lift (up to 50 pounds).
· Observes all safety regulations.
· Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Must be able to pass welder certification tests after probation period is completed training will be provided.
Will be required to pass PT & VT training and tests for Level I & Level II. Training will be provided.
Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
Preferred Welder Certification, but not required.
One year of related experience and/or training preferred.
Ability to produce quality products consistently.
Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
Must be able to work un-supervised.
Must be dependable with a strong work ethic.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment provided.
