Responsibilities - Technician:

Perform multi-point inspection and diagnose malfunction(s)

Efficiently repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning, etc., in accordance with dealership standards

Explain mechanical diagnoses/required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers

Provide an estimate of the time needed for repairs

Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs

Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions

Adhere to company regulations and keep abreast of recalls and updates.

Report any damaged or defective equipment to management.

Report safety issues to management and ensure a cleanworking area.

Qualifications/Requirements – Technician:

Previous automotive preventative maintenance experience

Previous formal automotive training

At least 3 years’ experience as a technician

ASE Certification a plus

Must have a strong work ethic; independently motivated to produce results with limited influence from others

Must be a hard worker, someone who works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics, such as responsibility, dependability, conscientiousness, communication, and teamwork

The ability to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions is important

Display a commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing automotive industry

Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines

Commitment to following established safety policies and procedures

High School Diploma or GED

Valid driver's license

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must have tools

Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
