Penn State Greater Allegheny seeks a dedicated Career and Technical Education specialist to support the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), Bureau of Career and Technical Education to administer educational programs, support curriculum review and development and provide training for educators. The position serves as a contributing member of the Education Resource Center, working collaboratively with others to achieve the center's mission and goals.Key Responsibilities:
Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program Coordination:
Coordinate and manage activities associated with the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program aimed at improving academic and occupational achievement in career and technical education.
Organize program activities for participating schools, including creating and distributing memoranda of understanding, coordinating school activities, and providing technical assistance as needed.
Distribute relevant materials and surveys, ensuring that schools receive the support necessary to enhance their programs.
Programs of Study Development and Revision:
Coordinate the development and revision cycle of Programs of Study in support of the Perkins Grant.
Establish a calendar for review meetings, ensuring that curricular activities are discussed, and recommendations are made in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with PDE, secondary and postsecondary educators, and plan review meetings that engage subject matter experts in the annual cycle of program review.
Prepare and distribute program review findings on a statewide basis, ensuring that educators and administrators are informed and equipped to implement necessary changes.
Conference and Meeting Management:
Organize and manage conferences and meetings that align with the center's goals and support PDE projects.
Build and maintain a knowledge base of activities that support schools and projects, ensuring that the center remains a resource hub for educators.
Prepare and deliver presentations at statewide meetings and conferences, representing the center and supporting PDE initiatives.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Education, other social science, or related field.
1 to 3 years' work experience required and 4-7 years of experience preferred.
Project management experience helpful.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with educators, administrators, and subject matter experts.
Experience in coordinating and managing large-scale programs and events, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Commitment to advancing career and technical education through effective program management.Additional Information: This position may require occasional travel and participation in evening or weekend events. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of program coordination and curriculum support.
