The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Month end closings experience
General ledger experience
Account reconciliation experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Proficient in ERP systems
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
