Sanitation Truck Driver (Salem, OR)
Class-B CDL required
D & O Garbage Service, Inc. is a fast-paced and family-owned company with more than 65 years of experience in the city of Salem, OR. We are currently seeking an experienced, dependable, and responsible Sanitation Truck Driver to join our team. This is a 40-hour a week, full time position that includes driving around the city, UGB and Rural areas surrounding mostly south Salem. This position requires High School Diploma or equivalent and Class A or B CDL. Driving history must meet insurance carrier requirements for company insurance. Applicants will be subject to background checks. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and need little to no supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner. Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and fit for duty medical exam.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
Drivers are expected to work 40 hours a week, M-TH and most holidays.
Drivers must have clean driving record, with no moving violations in the last 3 years.
Must pass a DOT drug screen and follow all rules under the FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse.
Drivers are expected to operate his or her loaded truck along their route and to the disposal site in a safe and courteous manner.
Continuous adherence to all company safety policies and proper use of P.P.E. We are a SHARPS certified company and pride ourselves on putting our employee’s safety first.
Drivers should maintain pride in their work and strive to achieve their goals daily.
Drivers are expected to interact with all customers and coworkers in a professionally and courteous manner. Respect and a positive attitude are important to our company.
Responsible for safe operation of their truck while navigating routes and completing them in a timely and accurate manner.
Continuously monitor and recognize unsatisfactory conditions for waste receptacles and make calls to dispatch to get issues resolved.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and adheres to them.
Responsible for preforming daily pre and post trip inspections and turning in an accurate write up slip with any issues addressed on the forms.
Reports any incidents and accidents to supervisor immediately with honesty and integrity.
Previous experience with refuse collection vehicles is recommended but not necessary (training will be provided)
All CDL drivers will need to stay in compliance with the FMCSA rules and be familiar with them.
Applicants must have a team-oriented mindset and be able to work well with others.
Safety incentive bonuses and boot allowance is provided after your introductory period.
