Production Supervisor – Food Manufacturing
DPI Staffing is seeking two experienced and dependable Production Supervisors to support our client in a fast-paced food production facility in Salem, OR. This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on, detail-oriented leaders to ensure smooth daily operations while upholding high standards in quality, compliance, and efficiency.
Location: Salem, Oregon
Pay: $29.81/hour
Employment Type: Temporary with potential for internal hire
Schedule: 2 Positions Available
Day Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (Fridays and overtime as needed)
Swing Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM (Fridays and overtime as needed)
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of food production experience.
Manufacturing experience.
Prior supervisory or lead experience required
Skilled with hand and power tools.
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license required.
Preferred but not required: HACCP, SQF, or PCQI certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily production activities, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with internal/external inspections.
Manage employee scheduling (daily and weekly), monitor timekeeping, oversee overtime, and conduct 6-S audits.
Train, supervise, and evaluate plant personnel to maintain compliance with safety and operational standards.
Ensure production aligns with customer specifications and company quality requirements.
Collaborate with forklift drivers to reconcile raw materials (weights, BOLs, and release forms).
Provide hands-on support in production operations as needed.
Partner with maintenance and sanitation to maintain clean and functional equipment.
Enforce GMP, food safety, and workplace policies to maintain an organized and efficient environment.
Report and address food safety concerns with appropriate corrective action.
Participate in safety meetings and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of GMP, food safety, and quality control standards.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and memos.
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate rate, ratio, and percentages, and interpret drawings/schematics.
Ability to multitask and lead by example while being detail-oriented, organized, and solutions-focused.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and frequently walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, or stoop without restriction.
Frequent use of hands and arms; ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception.
Ability to hear and speak clearly.
Flexibility to support other areas of production as needed.
