NW Employment is partnered with a local fruit and vegetable processing facility located in Brooks, OR.We are looking to add a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team!

Pay- $25.50-$27.90 DOE

Shift- Rotating Schedule between Day, Swing and Grave Must be flexible with schedule

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is the first point of contact for food safety and quality items on the production floor. The QA Supervisor under the direction of the Quality Manager, will ensure that all assigned tasks are completed during their assigned shift. Additionally, the QA Supervisor will ensure that all quality staff activities are carried out in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. The QA Supervisor will ensure that all quality employees are on task and following company standard operating procedures at all times. Employees in this position also need to demonstrate leadership in plant wide culture towards Safety, Food Safety, Communication, Quality and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervises and monitors all quality staff and operations during the assigned shift.

Monitors and evaluates performance and provides necessary training and corrective action to QA technicians, and QA leads.

Performs routine pre-op, post op, and operational inspections of production lines.

Uses aseptic techniques to collect samples for microbiological testing.

Daily visual documented review of all HACCP monitoring activities.

Work with FSIS and USDA officials to take immediate action for all deficiencies.

Reviews quality & food safety documentation. Signs-off on all records daily, and files all paperwork.

Ensures production is meeting product specs, and communicates any immediate need for correction.

Documents all Food Safety & Quality issues for plant management daily review.

Trains all QA staff on company policies and procedures.

Sets up and adjusts the QA technician daily assignments based on production needs.

·Document and place product on Quality Hold when needed, review and remove holds when needed.

Review and determine product dispositions – destroy, reblanch, reinspect, relot, donate, strip, etc.

Call product back from the warehouse or outside storage for rework when required.

Supervise and assist quality and production staff with rework projects and documentation.

Monitor rework areas for temperature abuse and direct product(s) accordingly.

Responsible for the documentation, organization, collection, and delivery of routine samples.

Posting and routine verification of all blancher temperatures. Review and sign-off of recording charts.

Performs process validations and verification checks.

Occasionally covers duties of quality lead and technicians in times of crew shortages.

Supervise, assign, and perform grading of outside purchase samples.

Routine calibration and verification of thermometers, scales, and other quality equipment.

Performs titrations for sanitizing systems and makes adjustments as necessary.

Annual projects/tasks – such as glass survey, magnet survey, and metal detection survey, etc.

Obtain forklift certification to be available for short term production assistance.
