Job Summary:
Apply technical skills and knowledge of final paint application on manufactured steel tanks and subsystems.
REQUIREMENTS: Three years experience as a Painter, using all common tools including forklift.
DUTIES: Uses products and processes that are varied and moderately complex to complex in scope to apply primer, topcoat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to manufactured steel tanks and subsystems consistent with customer and company standards. The level of work requires experience and sound judgment. Reads and interprets specifications and documents to define the scope of work on work orders. Cleans grease and dirt and removes rust from metal with wire brush from tanks to be painted. Set up airless and air sprayer for proper coating based on the material used. Operate sprayer to regulate width and pressure of spray. Always uses the appropriate personal protective equipment for the operation to be performed. When using a respirator, ensures the respirator is working properly and is properly worn. Applies spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish using protective or decorative material. Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent. Complies with environmental regulations and practices.
Level of Supervision Required: Works under general supervision applying and adapting standard procedures and solutions to meet work requirements.
Experience Required: 1 year preferred, experience painting steel.
Compensation
Salary: $20.00 to $30.00 per Hour depending on experience
