We are in search of a dental assistant to join our thriving Silverton practice. We would love to find someone local who is interested in a long-term situation. Experience and prior certifications are preferred, but we would be willing to train the right person.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up operatories for procedures
- Greet patients and help them get seated in the operatory
- Gather patient information and health background
- Take and manipulate digital radiographs
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and all varieties of dental procedures
- Take alginate impressions/bite registrations/pour stone models
- Fabricate temporary crowns
- Coronal polishing on young children
- Perform simple denture adjustments and place soft relines
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits
- Give post-operative instructions
- Monitor inventory, order, and restock supplies
Preferred Qualifications
- Dental assistant certificate from an accredited institution
- Radiology certification
- Expanded Functions certification (EFDA)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Kind and considerate of fellow employees/team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Good listener, not afraid of constructive feedback, fast learner
