Job description
Summary:
Our drivers will use our vehicles to transport our riders from one responsible person to another, all with five star service. Five Star Special Transport mainly takes people in wheelchairs to and from their medical appointments.

This job includes but is not limited to:
· Driving safely to our rider’s pickup location.
· Entering our rider’s premises.
· Escorting our riders to our vehicle (if in a wheelchair, wheeling them up a ramp and securing their wheelchair and person).
· Driving safely to our rider’s destination.
· Making sure students and seniors with disabilities follow safety protocol while inside the vehicle.
· Escorting riders to the next responsible supervisory person (if a medical appointment, making sure they are all checked in).
· Using our company’s scheduling, navigation, and communication software proficiently.
· Keeping the interior and exterior of our vehicles clean.
· Building positive relationships with our riders and various rider supervisors (medical staff, guardians, caregivers, family members, etc.).
· Communicating with dispatch when problems arise.

· Able to always have a cheerful and professional demeanor.
· Able to make friendly conversation with our riders, doing more listening than talking.
· Able to show sympathy/empathy to our riders.
· Able to relate well with children and seniors.
·Able to be flexible when things don't go according to plan, such as a schedule change, catering to an unexpected special need that arises, etc.
·Able to practice patience while working with people with special needs, caregivers, assisted living facilities, etc.
Other Qualifications
· 25 years old or older.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Reliable transportation to/from the location of our vehicle
·Reliable cell phone that can be used constantly on the job
· 5 or more years of driving experience
· Clean driving record
· Pass a county, state, and FBI fingerprint criminal background check
· Pass a pre-employment and random drug tests, including testing for marijuana, and amphetamines.
· 2 years of customer service (preferred)
· 2 years of working with the elderly or people with special needs (preferred)
· Have a basic understanding of how to use applications on a smartphone
· Able to push heavy people up ramps and driveways
· Able to bend, squat, kneel, and reach to properly use vehicle safety equipment
Training:
Approximately 40 hours of practical and educational training. Applicants are paid $23.38/hour for training. The training includes but is not limited to:
· Safety equipment training
· Ride alongs
· Defensive Driving online course.
· CPR and First Aid online certification course
· PASS online certification course
·Child car seat and booster seat online course
·HIPPA Online training
Job Hours and Pay:
Part Time
Work Monday and Wednesday
Up to a 10 hour shift somewhere between 6am-7pm on the days that you work. Start time is revealed the night before.
Pay: 23.38/hour. $1 raise after 5 months.
