Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate activities of shop personnel engaged in repair and service of trucks and equipment.
- Review requests for repair and complaints, help determine problem and recommend solution.
- Schedule and assign work, coordinate efforts, provide technical guidance, and review progress of assignments.
- Communicate with Shop Manager daily.
- Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
- Must provide own hand tools.
Hours
Usually 5:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. but may vary depending on workload. Must be able to work overtime, off shifts & Saturdays as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous heavy equipment mechanic and or truck mechanic experience, knowledge of paving equipment, prefer 5+ years, with good trouble shooting skills
- Supervisory skills, need good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current CDL License with HAZMAT/Tanker endorsements.
- Must be very reliable, able to work well under pressure, and have the ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Need a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
- Must be a good teacher/mentor.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
- Ability to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, weekends and overtime.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.
