Hammer & Hand seeks a full-time Shop Carpenter to join our Portland Woodshop team!

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position will include the fabrication of cabinetry, architectural elements, and historical high performance/passive house doors and windows.

We are looking for a team player who has experience working in a high production environment.

A great candidate will be self-motivated and well-organized with a strong work ethic. They would bring great problem solving and time management skills, as well as a commitment to learn and grow within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Approximately 5 years of woodshop experience, with a focus on cabinetry and custom woodwork

Ability to safely operate all standard woodworking machinery

Proficient at reading and working from architectural drawings and shop drawings

Possess a strong work ethic and time management skills, able to meet tight deadlines

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process

Self-motivated and a team player

High level of accuracy and pride in your craft

Ability to lift 50lbs

BONUS POINTS

Design experience and proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360, etc

Knowledge of passive house / high performance door fabrication

Finishing experience

Forklift experience
