MADE is Hiring a skilled furniture/cabinetmaker

Oregon, Portland, 97201 Portland USA
Aplica ya

MADE is looking to add a member to our team. We are a small, custom woodworking shop, focusing on high-end, modern projects. MADE creates one-of-a-kind and limited-production furnishings, cabinetry and interiors. We are looking for a full-time employee with a minimum of five years' experience working in a similar shop environment.

Responsibilities will vary greatly—from assisting in the completion of complicated projects, installing large-scale jobs, sanding and detailing, building custom furniture, and helping maintain the shop. We often use multiple materials in a project, so familiarity with metals, glass, acrylics and other material is helpful. Having a set of good hand-tools is required, as well as reliable transportation to and from job sites. Most of our projects are local, but sometimes travel may be necessary.

We hope to find someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about woodworking, adaptable to the various challenges projects can present, hard-working, and someone who works well with a team. Solid skills with hand and machine tools are required. Knowledge of Vectorworks or similar design software is a plus.

Duties

Read and understand design documentation, including plans, elevations, and sections.

Construct and assemble cabinets and furniture according to design specifications.

Perform installation of cabinetry in residential and commercial settings.

Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of cabinetry with other elements.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cabinetmaker or similar role in the woodworking industry.

Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials.

Familiarity with shop practices and safety regulations.

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.

Openness to feedback and process input as needed.

Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy materials when necessary.

Please forward resume and portfolio of completed work. You can view our work at www.made-studio.com. No visits or phone-calls please. We look forward to hearing from you!
