Lead Graphic Production Finisher - Forge Graphic Works

Forge Graphic Works is a design studio and large format print shop located in Portland, Oregon. We do work for big brands and small companies alike, specializing in designing and printing large retail campaigns, event graphics, P.O.P. displays and other marketing programs. We work hard but have fun designing and producing really cool stuff.

We are currently looking for a Lead Graphic Production Finisher. This individual will report to and take direction from our Production Manager and be expected to perform all aspects of our finishing workflow while managing finishing personnel.

Responsibilities:

Prioritize and manage finishing workflow, including setting up and operating laminators, sewing machines, vinyl plotters and other processes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met

Successfully lead and manage finishing personnel

Collaborate with production managers and other production leaders to establish daily priorities and timing, as well as long-term goals and expectations

Train and coach new finishing personnel on all finishing processes and production standards and procedures

Perform quality control protocols to ensure that all graphics are produced within spec and meet our stringent quality standards

Provide accurate, immediate progress reports to the Production Manager and all other relevant stakeholders

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked working area

Assist in other production departments as directed by the production manager

Required skills and experience:

Supervisory / management experience or ability

Minimum three years of experience working with fabric / vinyl banners, cut vinyl and other graphic processes

Expert knowledge of graphic finishing processes, equipment, and materials

Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and an eye for quality

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be a highly motivated team player, with the ability to think and act autonomously

Must be able to prioritize multiple projects with multiple deadlines that are in various stages of development or production

Possess a positive, “can-do” attitude

Creative thinker and problem solver

Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours when necessary

Have a current, valid driver license.

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Desire to grow your skill-set and take on more responsibility

Forklift certification / experience a plus
