Well established high-end residential construction company in Portland is looking for a qualified Lead Carpenter.

As a key leader on the Otis team, the Lead Carpenter is responsible for overseeing high-end residential
projects while performing skilled carpentry work. This role includes supervising field carpenters, skilled
and unskilled workers, and subcontractors to ensure project success. The Lead Carpenter manages daily
tasks, oversees materials and inventory, coordinates site logistics, and enforces safety compliance.
Additionally, the role involves mentoring and training less experienced team members to maintain Otis's
commitment to quality craftsmanship and professionalism. The Lead Carpenter reports to the Project
Supervisor and plays a critical role in achieving project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead and supervise field carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure high-quality project
execution
● Manage daily scope completion, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources
● Oversee materials and inventory control, ensuring proper ordering, delivery, and storage
● Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site
● Interpret and work from architectural drawings, specifications, and project plans
● Perform skilled carpentry tasks, including:
- Residential framing and carpentry
- Grading, elevations, and layouts per plan
- WRB and rain screen installation
- Exterior siding and trim
- Door, window, and hardware installation
- Interior trim, cladding, wall paneling, and bath accessories installation
● Troubleshoot on-site issues and resolve discrepancies in plans or materials
● Utilize job tracking/documentation applications for reporting and progress updates
● Mentor and train less experienced carpenters and laborers to enhance team skills and
performance
Skills Required:
● Proficiency in residential framing and carpentry techniques
● Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and project specifications
● Strong organizational skills for job site maintenance, inventory control and logistics
● Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
● Proficiency in power tool use, WRB systems, and finish work
● Solid understanding of basic mathematics for measurements and calculations
● Strong understanding of grading, elevations, and layouts
● Proficiency with job tracking/documentation software
● Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
● Strong verbal and written communication abilities
● Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Other Requirements:
● Minimum of 10 years of experience in new or remodeled residential construction
● Ownership of basic carpentry tools and appropriate raingear
● Valid driver’s license, safe driving history, and reliable work vehicle
● Willingness to pass a criminal background check.

$40-45 per hour, DOE
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, (5) 8 hour days
No nights/weekends
